Our Comprehensive 160 Point Inspection

At Expat Motors we value the quality of the cars we sell very seriously, and we will only sell certified used cars. That is why our team is trained to deliver a comprehensive 160-point inspection on every used car that reaches our Dubai showroom. This process ensures the vehicle is both safe and mechanically sound, so you can have peace of mind when you come and collect it from us.

What is included in Our 160 Point Inspection?

Engine Compartment:
Firstly the engine receives a visual inspection to ensure there are no obvious leaks or visual defects that require attention. After determining if anything needs rectification we will then use the latest diagnostics equipment and carry out a thorough diagnosis of the engine and ancillary electronic components.

Steering:
Not only do we test the steering for feedback, excess noise and vibration, but we also check alignment and tracking. Moreover, as most modern cars have power steering, we also ensure fluid levels are optimal and that there aren’t any leaks.

Gearbox:
We test the gearbox to make sure gear changes are fluid when shifting up and down, ensuring the absence of noise or vibration. To do that, our team stress tests the gearbox for faults, allowing us to check for leaks coming from the seals or other components.

Fuel Delivery System:
Our team checks the fuel delivery system is in correct working order by inspecting the integrity of the tank and the lines connected to it. Moreover, we also check the adequate pressures are coming through the fuel delivery system so that we know the adequate amount of fuel is going through the engine.

Underbody:
Our visual inspection of the car’s chassis and underbody allows us to check for signs of repair, damage, corrosion, and general condition compared to the manufacturer's standards. During this part of the 160-point inspection, we also check the overall condition of the undertrays.

Interior:
Inspecting the interior components for wear allows us to assess whether potential damage to them is consistent with the car’s age and mileage.

Electric Components:
Our team carries out a full diagnostic of the car’s electrical control units by using the OBD port, checking ECU’s, Body Computers, sensors, and battery health. This step allows us to gain an overall understanding of the car’s electrical health.

Suspension:
In addition to the necessary visual inspection to assess the bushes and shock absorbers for cracks and leakages, we road test the car to check for noises and assess the condition of wearable items.

Exhaust:
When checking a car’s exhaust, we listen out for excessive noise or blowing. However, it doesn't stop there, a visual inspection on the ramp is also necessary to allow us to ensure mounts, seals and gaskets are intact.

Brakes:
Inspecting the brakes is probably one of the most important steps we take to ensure our certified used cars are safe enough to leave the showroom. During this test, we check braking performance is optimal and assess the wear brake discs and pads. We also check original parts are used and that brake fluid is topped up.

Exterior Bodywork:
This part of our inspection allows us to check for signs of accident damage, assess the condition of each body panel, and alloy damage. We also inspect the wear on the tyres tread as well as the age indicators.

Comprehensive 160 Point Inspection

Engine Compartment:
The engine is given a visual inspection, this part of the inspection allows us to check the fluids and filters and ensure no leaks are visible.

Steering:
Testing steering feedback for excess noise or vibration, in addition checking alignment and tracking. Ensuring fluid levels are optimal without present leaks.

Gearbox:
The gearbox is tested for fluidity upon changes upward or downward, checking noise or vibration. Stress testing the gearbox for faults. Checking for leaks from either the seals or other components.

Fuel Delivery System:
Checking adequate pressures of the fuel delivery system, checking for leaks. Integrity of the tank and lines. Fuel pump operation.

Underbody:
Visual inspection of the cars chassis and underbody areas checking for signs of repair, damage, corrosion, condition versus manufacturer standards and overall condition of the undertrays.

Interior:
Visual inspection of the interior components for wear, damage and consistency with the cars age and mileage.

Electric Components:
Diagnostics of the cars electrical control units with use of the OBD port checking ECU's, Body Computers, sensors, battery health and gaining an overall understanding of the cars electrical health.

Suspension:
Road testing the car for noises and assessing the wearable items, in addition a visual inspection to further assess the bushes and shock absorbers for cracks & leakage.

Exhaust:
Assessing originality of the exhaust parts, listening for excessive noise or blowing. Visual inspection on the ramp to make sure mounts, seals and gaskets are in tact.

Brakes:
Checking brake performance is optimal. Assessing wear on the brake discs and pads. Checking for originality of parts and levels of brake fluids.

Exterior Bodywork:
Visual inspection of panel gaps checking for signs of accident damage, current condition of each body panel, alloy wheel damage & tyres tread wear and age indicators.
